We're a startup with limited resources and need to decide whether to build a new feature or integrate an existing solution. We've tried a few off-the-shelf options, but they don't fit our needs perfectly. It's frustrating trying to weigh the costs and benefits.

Consider the long-term implications. Building takes time and money, but it can also lead to a better-integrated solution. If you go for buying, ensure the vendor has good support, especially for a startup.

Start by assessing your core competencies. If the feature aligns closely with your unique offering, building may be the way to go. If it can be done cheaper with a third-party solution, then buy.
