I'm a solo consultant and I'm overwhelmed with workload. It feels like I should hire someone, but I'm uncertain of the timing. I worry about the financial implications and if it's the right move.

Hiring your first person should ideally happen when you have enough consistent work to justify the cost. If you're turning away clients or can't deliver high-quality work due to time constraints, that's usually a good sign to make the leap.

I'd suggest you assess your workload and client feedback. If clients are seeking more service than you can provide, it's time to think about bringing someone on board to help manage that growth.
