When does a startup need a proper data warehouse vs just querying the app database?

I've been thinking about our data strategy, and I'm unsure if we should invest in a data warehouse yet or if querying the app database is enough for now.

If reports and analytics are critical to your decision-making, get a data warehouse. Otherwise, stick with app database queries until you need more.
